How to get Here

Campus Coupure

By public transport:
Take a train to Ghent St.-Pieters. Take tramway n° 4 (Gentbrugge Moscou) from the company De Lijn. Get off at the "Rozemarijn bridge" just before the canal. Cross the road and follow the street "Coupure links" (along the canal). The entrance of the campus is on the next corner, just in front of the pedestrian bridge.

By car:
On the highway (E40 Brussel/Oostende or E17 Antwerpen/Kortrijk), take the exit "Gent Centrum". At the bifurication, just before the overpass, take the exit "alle richtingen" (and not "Gent Centrum"). Under the overpass, take the extreme left lane. Make a left turn at the first traffic light (direction "Zelzate" and "Eeklo"). Continue the ring-road (Sint Lievenslaan, Citadellaan, Charles De Kerckhovelaan, Ijzerlaan, Godshuizenlaan, Martelaarslaan) until the 7th traffic light (just before a church).  Turn right just before the church into the "Ekkergemstraat" and continue until you reach the canal Coupure. On your left hand side you will see the entrance of the faculty campus.

Campus Gontrode

By bike:
From Ghent to Gontrode, starting at the ring: Lievenslaan / St-Lievensplein / Binnenweg / Hundelgemsesteenweg / Jozef Vervaenestraat / Gontrodestraat / A. De Clerqlaan / Mellestraat / Teaterstraat / Gontrodeheirweg / Geraardsbergsesteenweg. On the Geraardsbergsesteenweg, 600 m after the Gontrode railway station, you find ForNaLab on the left side of the road.

By train:
Station Gent-Sint-Pieters: each hour, a train to Geraardsbergen leaves at 5 minutes past the hour. Gontrode is the third stop (arrival at 18 minutes past the hour). Walking from Gontrode station to ForNaLab will take about 5 minutes. Follow the Geraardsbergsesteenweg in the direction of the forest, i.e., without crossing the railway. ForNaLab is on the left side of the road, after ca. 600 m.

By car:
Please consider
that many GPS devices have difficulties directing to our lab. It might be better to directly insert the GPS coordinates of the lab into your GPS, i.e., +50° 58' 30.94", +3° 48' 19.30", or to use the address of our lab’s neighbour, i.e., Geraardsbergsesteenweg 265.
Leave highway E40 (Ghent-Brussels) at the exit Wetteren. Continue 200 m in the direction of Zottegem, then turn to the right on a small road that skirts the highway (direction ‘RUG site Melle’). Keep following this road: it becomes smaller and winding (three sharp bends). At the end turn left on the Geraardsbergsesteenweg. ForNaLab is situated 200 m further on the left side of the road.
