The participants of this specialist course are immersed for one week into the Ghent University research on migration, refugees and ethnicity in various fields (among which economics, sociology, pedagogy, psychology, history, linguistics, criminology, political science, law, (migration) policy, social work and medical sciences). The emphasis is put on the research methods used in these various fields. The participants are guided and encouraged to collaborate with a participant from another field on a rough research proposal. Given the methodological focus, this specialist course is also be relevant for doctoral students who investigate societal outcomes of vulnerable groups other than migrants and refugees.
