The highest academic degree is the doctorate degree. In order to achieve this degree an extended research programme is required. The results of this research has to be written down in a doctoral thesis. After 4 to 6 years of preparation the doctoral script has to be defended in a public oral lecture.

During the preparation, a PhD study programme can be followed. Altough not compulsary, the Faculty strongly recommend the PhD students to follow such a programme.
