  • Diagnosis of leukaemia and lymphoma: flow cytometry in the diagnosis and follow-up of these diseases in humans with attention to the techniques used (morning). Practical aspects: explanation by the responsible of the flowcytometer (afternoon).
    Location: Laboratorium Hematologie, UZ Brussel, Paviljoen Louis Tielemans, niveau 0, Laarbeeklaan 101, 1090 Brussel (Entrance via the main entrance of UZ Brussel. In the hall, take the corridor at the left (direction cardiovascular diseases). Laboratory for Clinical Biology is seen in front of you.

   

Tue 6 september 2016 - 9:30-12:00 / 13:00- 16:00

  • Detection of selected cytokines in mice serum (coming from infection model) with luminex kit for cytometer bead array analysis. Practical aspects: explanation of the measurements by the responsible of the 3 laser flowcytometer with attention to the pitfalls in multiplex bead analysis (morning).
  • Purifying 4 different immune cells (cytotoxic Tcells, NK cells, monocytes and pDCs) from PBMC fraction at the pig. Practical aspects: explanation of the sorting process by the  responsible of the celsorter and ‘tip and tricks’ to perform an efficient sort (afternoon).

  • Detection of antigen specific T cells using intracellular cytokine determination (ICS) (morning).
    Practical aspects: performing protocol (fix/perm) + antibody staining, followed by flowcytometric analysis with attention to pitfalls at ICS (afternoon).
