Experimental expertise

The magnetic measurements laboratory of EELAB is unique in Belgium and is one of the few top laboratories for magnetic measurements in Europe. Magnetic measurements of magnetization curves, hysteresis loops, electromagnetic losses,... can be performed under both unidirectional and rotating excitation, and with or without externally imposed (static or cyclic) uniaxial stress.

Magnetic characterization by the measurement of magnetization curves, hysteresis loops, electromagnetic losses can be performed under both unidirectional and rotating excitation, and with or without externally imposed (static or cyclic) uniaxial stress. Several experimental setups are available for these purposes:

 

Unidirectional magnetic characterization of steel sheet and strip, according to IEC standards 6-404-2 and 6-404-3

excitation frequency: DC – 1 kHz
magnetic circuits: Epstein frame, Single Sheet Tester (SST)
