About EESA

The department Electrical Energy, Systems and Automation (EESA) comprises two research groups, the research group EELAB (Electrical Energy Laboratory) and the research group SYSTeMS.

EELAB

The research group EELAB is active in various areas of electrical energy conversion, more particularly electrical drives (electrical machines, power electronics for drives, and control of drives), electromagnetic field calculations (development of FE software for field calculations and application to the design of electromagnetic devices), magnetic material modelling and characterization, electrical power networks (including also power electronic converters for mains applications).
More than 30 people are at the lab, including 4 full-time professors, 4 part-time professors, some Post-Doctoral fellows, 5 technical and administrative collaborators and about 20 scientific collaborators.
