You will contribute to national and international research projects on multimedia analysis and annotation within the IDLab research group. You will cooperate with enthusiastic colleagues and diverse external partners to fulfill the project requirements while staying up to date with important changes in the related literature. Projects will allow you to collaborate with researchers and developers from Europe and beyond in the area of spatio-temporal multimedia enrichment. You will be given the opportunity to work on new video/text analysis technologies that will facilitate media exploration and exploitation. You will start working on the UGESCO research project (Upscaling the Geo-temporal Enrichment, exploration and exploitation of Scientific COllections), to be followed up by new related projects.
Profile of the candidate
Requirements: A master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Electronics-ICT or (Mathematical) Informatics. Fluent in English. Proficient in programming. You should have a strong interest in multimedia processing and enrichment, computer vision, geo-ict, and/or natural language processing (NLP). A background in image/video/speech analysis and related technologies will be very valuable. An open mind and a multi-disciplinary attitude is a must.
