11 PhD and 4 Postdoc positions available within the Marie Curie Initial Training Network SHeMat - Self-healing materials: from concepts to market

Description of the project:
SHeMat aims to bridge the gaps in knowledge and understanding for the most promising self-healing materials. The research is carried out at different scales: From paper studies to process studies on a laboratory scale and industrial applications. The research includes the development and research of materials with self-healing functions among the following material classes: polymers, polymer composites, concrete and ceramics. For achieving the ambitious goals of the project a unique and interdisciplinary training will be provided to experienced and mainly young researchers. They will work in an excellent scientific environment to master the concepts, to quantify healing, and to learn how to position these materials in the application fields. Additionally there will be trainings concerning market requirements, e.g. sustainable assessment, standardization,  trade-off- and cost-analysis as well as key qualification trainings like language courses, project management etc. The project SHeMat “Training Network for Self-Healing Materials: from Concepts to Market” is funded under the Marie Curie Action – Initial Training Networks (ITN).
