ACHILLE - Applied Comfort and Health in Light Leisure Equipment (2011 - 2013)

More than 12 million people in Europe suffer from chronic skin conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis or atopic eczema.

This project aims at the functionalization of bed textiles, sports gear, protective clothing or baby clothes in order to offer a higher degree of comfort and protection to the skin. The project focuses on the use of vegetable extracts to repair a possibly damaged skin.

The aim is to find a textile release system, from which active components can slowly be released under the influence of friction, temperature or pH and which have a long-term effect on the skin.
