Gas Solid Vortex Reactor

A Gas Solid Vortex Reactor (GSVR) is a promising reactor for process intensification in the industrially relevant field of fluidized beds. In a GSVR, a rotating fluidized bed of particles is generated in a static chamber by introducing the gas via tangential inlets into a cylindrical reactor chamber. Centrifugal forces allow operation in a high gravity field, where denser and more uniform fluidized beds operate at higher gas-solid relative velocities, and as such intensified interfacial transfer of mass, momentum and heat can be obtained.
