Johannes Roth, Institute of Immunology, University of Munster, Germany will present his work. Abstract: S100 proteins represent one of the best examples of Danger Associated Molecular Patterns (DAMPs) known to date that are also clinically used as biomarkers in daily management of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases and in juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Dr. Johannes Roth is a world authority in the field of S100 biology with many seminal breakthroughs including but not limited to role of S100 as biomarker, its interaction with TLR4 and insights into the molecular mechanisms of how S100 may also promote inflammation by insights into the structural biology of S100 complexes.
