Alexandra K. Kiemer from the Saarland University, Germany is our guest speaker.
More information on her talk: Macrophages represent cells of the innate immunity being strongly activated by ligands for pattern recognition receptors, such as Toll-like receptors (TLRs). In order to limit inflammatory reactions, macrophages have evolved strategies to resist TLR-dependent cell activation. The talk will show that these desensitization pathways share similarities with glucocorticoid-dependent cellular processes.
