LEVEL DUTCH
0
  • no proof of language proficiency required, everyone is accepted
B2
  • the NVA5 certificate awarded by the Ghent University Language Centre (UCT - Universitair Centrum voor Talenonderwijs)
  • a certificate for the Interuniversity Language Test of Dutch (ITNA - Interuniversitaire Taaltest Nederlands voor Anderstaligen), awarded by the Ghent University Language Centre, Linguapolis (University of Antwerp), the University Language Centre of the HUB (Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel), and the Leuven Language Institute (ILT - Instituut voor Levende Talen)
  • a B2-certificate from another university language centre
  • a certificate for the Higher Education Language Profile (PTHO - Profiel Taalvaardigheid Hoger Onderwijs) under Dutch as a Foreign Language (CnaVT - Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal), awarded by the Dutch Language Union (Nederlandse Taalunie)
  • passing the entrance examination medicine-dentistry study programmes (toelatingsexamen arts-tandarts)
  • passing the equivalency examination doctor (gelijkwaardigheidsexamen arts), organised by the Flemish Inter-university Council (VLIR)
  • passing the NT2 State exam Programme II
  • from 2013-2014 B2 certificates issued by a CVO (Centrum voor Volwassenenonderwijs) are no longer accepted.
C1
  • the  certificate PAT (level C1 - Profiel Academische Taalvaardigheid) awarded by “Nederlandse Taalunie, Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal (CnaVT).
  • A certificate NVA6, awarded by the University Language Centre (UCT) of Ghent University.
  • A certificate C1, awarded by a University Language Centre.
C2
  • A certificate C2, awarded by another University Language Centre.

ENGLISH
0
  • no proof of language proficiency required, everyone is accepted
B2
  • a TOEFL-TEST, maximum two years old, with a score of 510-559 (paper-based), or 87-109 (internet-based) or higher. Test takers should mention the “institution code” 2643, so that the score can be sent to Ghent University directly
  • an original ‘academic test report form’ (TRF) from IELTS, maximum two years old, with a minimum overall band score of 6.0
  • a certificate awarded by the UCT (Ghent University Language Centre) confirming proficiency in English at CEF-level B2
  • the final test certificate from the course Practical English 5, Upper-Intermediate Academic English or Preparing for an English test, awarded by the UCT
  • Cambridge-ESOL: First certificate in English (FCE)
C1
  • a TOEFL-TEST, maximum two years old, with a score of 560-676 (paper-based), or 110-119 (internet-based) or higher. Test takers should mention the “institution code” 2643, so that the score can be sent to Ghent University directly
  • An original ‘academic test report form’ (TRF) from IELTS, maximum two years old, with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 or 7.0 or higher
  • a certificate awarded by the UCT confirming proficiency in English at CEF-level C1.
  • the final test certificate for the course Practical English 6 or Advanced Academic English, awarded by the UCT
  • A certificate C1, awarded by another University Language Centre
  • Cambridge-ESOL: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
C2
  • A TOEFL-TEST, maximum two years old, with a high score of 677 (paper-based), or 120 (internet-based). Test takers should mention the “institution code” 2643, so that the score can be sent to Ghent University directly
  • An original ‘academic test report form’ (TRF) from IELTS, maximum two years old, with a minimum overall band score of 7.5 or higher (maximum score = 9.0)
  • A certificate awarded by the UCT confirming proficiency in English at CEF-level C2
  • A certificate C2, awarded by another University Language Centre
  • Cambridge-ESOL: Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
