Accessibility declaration
Ghent University wants its websites to be fully accessible to everyone. UGent takes specific measures to make its online documents accessible to Internet users with visual, motor and auditory impairments but also to the elderly.
Anysurfer label
Since June 1st, 2011 the central website of Ghent University carries the Anysurfer label. Anysurfer is a Belgian quality label for accessible websites.
You will find this label on the bottom right in the footer of this website.
Accessibility benefits
Due to many similarities with other principles of good web design, accessible websites have benefits for all users.
Websites with the Anysurfer label are usable for everybody and are usually better suitable for smart phones and work in all web browsers.
Accessible websites score much better in result lists of search engines.
Problems with Accessibility?
Besides the central UGent website that meets all accessibility standards, in principle, all local websites that use the central editing system meet the Anysurfer guidelines.
Nevertheless, you may encounter link references to UGent websites that do not meet the Anysurfer guidelines.
Should you experience problems with the accessibility of certain websites, please report them to us.
