The University Film Club Film-Plateau embarked on its journey through motion picture history with a viewing of Death in Venice. Hidden away in Paddenhoek (near the faculty of Law), the theatre opens its doors every Thuesday and Thursday night.

Every Wednesday evening, the Ghent University Symphony Orchestra 'Tempus Misti rehearses at 7.30pm at the student house "De Therminal", conducted by Steven Decraene. With concerts and other activities, the GUSO strives to combine high quality with a convivial atmosphere. Interested? Take a look at their website.
The Ghent University Choir rehearses every Thursday evening at 7.30pm. These rehearsals culminate in concerts during December and May, and performances at proclamations. They are always on the look-out for new voices (website - only in Dutch).

On a regular basis sports championships are organised for either students or staff. Also, each year in springtime all staff members are invited to participate in the Staff Sports Day.
