Chief Academic Administrator
Koen Goethals (°1961) was appointed chief academic administrator by
the Board of Governors in 2004. He holds a doctoral degree in Science
(Genetics).
The two chief administrators of Ghent University (academic and logistics) form the Management Committee, lead by the vice-chancellor and the deputy vice-chancellor and are responsible for the day-to-day management of the university and the co-ordination of the central university administration.
The chief administrators have a seat in the Board of Governors and the Management Committee with advisory vote.
The chief academic administrator is in particular responsible for the steering of the following departments:
