Wanted: 100 employees from Ghent University for the ‘UGent aan de MaaS’ mobility study
(06-02-2017) The Institute for Sustainable Mobility (idm.ugent.be) and Touring (Belgian break-down assistance) are looking for 100 Ghent University employees who are willing to commit to using their own car as little as possible over a period of 3 months.
There’s a reward in store for them in doing so. In return for their efforts, they will be given a monthly mobility budget of between 150 and 350 euros, with which to ensure their mobility. Using a smartphone application, this budget may be spent on all kinds of mobility alternatives (such as public transport, car-sharing, bike-sharing, and taxis). They will also receive any remaining balance at the end. The ‘smartest’ mobility men or women will be given an extra bonus at the end of the trial.
Staff at Ghent University possessing their own car and smartphone, and who are prepared to commit to this challenge, may complete the recruitment questionnaire (in Dutch), which won’t take more than ten minutes.
Eligible candidates will be invited to attend a lunch meeting at Ghent University. During this meeting, more information will be provided and it will be possible to sign up effectively. The research project itself will start at the beginning of March 2017.
