Lieven Annemans receives Francqui Chair for the second time
(31-01-2017) On the recommendation of the Faculté de Santé Publique of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), the prestigious Francqui Chair was awarded this year to Ghent University Professor Lieven Annemans.
Prof. Lieven Annemans receives the award for the second time, after the ULB awarded him the chair in 2013.
He earned the award based on his scientific merit, with more than 400 scientific papers and 4 books, including the recent 'Je geld of je leven in de gezondheidszorg'.
In recent years, Annemans translated his scientific results into a practical and social approach to health care. He advocates reforms in the health system to provide a universally accessible and affordable quality care. In his lectures, books and media appearances he explains in plain language what needs to be done to achieve that goal. He also focuses more and more on the link between money, health and happiness.
His inaugural lecture - given in French - will take place on Thursday 16 March 2017, at 18:30, on the campus Erasme of the ULB. The lecture, which is open to everyone, is entitled“Des soins de qualité pour tous dans un système de santé durable: garantie ou utopie?”
