Free-of-charge to TRACK
(Jul 31, 2012) TRACK, the arts trail that is spread across the entire city of Ghent, can be visited free-of-charge by all staff members, students and paying alumni members of UGent on Saturday, 4 August 2012.
TRACK is a S.M.A.K. initiative, and presents a unique art experience in the public and semi-public area of the city of Ghent. The trail offers surprising, enriching and unexpected encounters with the city, its history and its citizens, and encourages people to reflect about the urban realities and the fate of modern man at large.
TRACK consists of six clusters that provide a historic, cultural, architectural and mental cross-section of Ghent, and give an idea of what a contemporary city should be like. Every cluster has its own atmosphere, and touches upon a specific theme, such as mobility, religion, migration, economy, language, science and changes in the city. The public can explore the exhibition in several ways. Visitors do not follow a pre-defined, linear trail, but are free to find their own, personal TRACK through the clusters and the city.
