Ghent University wants to actively promote its participation in the IDEAS-programme

of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7 – 2007-2013).

This programme, managed by the European Research Council (ERC) provides a distinctive funding mechanism devoted to scientific excellence for all scientific fields.

Currently, Ghent University hosts several ERC-projects.

Funding and grants

Funding is provided for the implementation of groundbreaking research for a period of 5 years.

Two types of grants are available:

ERC Starting Grants for young postdocs (2-12 years research experience)
ERC Advanced Grants for established senior researchers
