Admission requirements
Once you have selected the study programme of your choice, you must check whether you meet the academic admission requirements:
1. Language proficiency
- Language of instruction as determining factor: All UGent bachelor programmes are taught in Dutch. English is only used in some Master programmes (international programmes). The common language in the Doctoral Schools is English.
2. Basic diploma
Admission is granted on the basis of a diploma, irrelevant of nationality. Most qualifications obtained abroad do not grant direct admission. This means that the diploma is not automatically recognised as equivalent to a Flemish diploma and that admission can be granted after an individual application procedure.
- Level of chosen study programme as determining factor: consult the overview of diploma requirements per level of study programme.
- Chinese candidates must also pass the APS-screening.
Next step is applying for admission via the application procedure.
