Welcome to Ghent University!

We have been preparing for your arrival and are very excited that you have made the decision to join UGent.

The Welcome Days are designed to make your transition to UGent and university life as smooth as possible. When you attend the Welcome Days, you will find a wide variety of sessions, events, and social gatherings to help you get to know the university and city better, find answers to your questions, and make new friends. We want you to have fun and learn about your new home. Make the most of our Welcome Days!

The Welcome Days are open to all NEW international students (exchange, degree and PhD) of UGent. Students who were already registered at UGent in the past cannot be accepted.

The programme is free of charge; participation is strongly recommended. We advise you to plan your arrival date in Ghent minimum 1 day before the start of the Welcome Days. Please keep in mind that, if you have lessons, courses, lab work, etc… on the Welcome days, you need to contact your UGent professor/promoter and ask whether you can take part.

The Welcome Days are organised by the International Relations Office of Ghent University, in co-operation with the Province of East-Flanders, the City of Ghent, ESN Gent and many other helping hands.
