from Brussels Airport to Gent Sint-Pieters station
In the airport building, go to level –1 and take the train with direction Gent Sint-Pieters station (we advise you not to take the train which passes through Aalst, because this will take longer!). There is a direct train every hour, but you can also take the train to Brussel Noord station at the airport, where about three trains an hour leave for Ghent.

Arriving by train in Brussels : Switch to one of the many intercity trains (IC) to or via "Gent-Sint-Pieters", Ghent 's main railway station (directions "Brugge", "Knokke/Blankenberge", "Oostende" all stop in Ghent ). Ghent is on the crossroads of the international lines "London-Brussel-Köln" and "Antwerpen-Lille-Paris".

At the tramstop under Gent Sint-Pieters station you can take tram 1 towards the city centre until the stop Verlorenkost. Take the Jozef Plateaustraat (upwards). You will walk into the Rectorate and the new UFo building in the Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat.
In addition you can take tram 21 or 22, or buses 55(S), 57, 58(S), 70, 71, 72, 76, 77, 78 until the Zuid stop.
When getting off at the Zuid stop, keep the library to your left and the shopping centre to your right and walk up towards Vooruit. Cross the street at the lights and take the Lammerstraat. Turn left at the end of the street (at the lights). The rectorate is around the corner on your left.

by car - from Antwerp, Brussels, Ostend, Kortrijk (E40, E17)
Take the exit ‘Gent Centrum’. Then follow the sign 'Alle Richtingen'. Once you are down the viaduct, turn left at the lights (under the viaduct). This will take you onto the ring road. At the second lights turn right into the Overpoortstraat. Drive across the Sint-Pietersplein. Across the square you will find the Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat, where the Rectorate is located.
You can park under the Sint-Pietersplein (parking route: P10). At the Rectorate parking facilities are limited.
You can also drive into Ghent through the Zuidplein. On E40/E17 take exit 'Gent Centrum' twice (instead of 'Alle Richtingen'). Keep to the left and drive into the underground parking lot (Zuid).
