  • no proof of language proficiency required
B2
  • A certificate NVA5, awarded by the University Language Centre (UCT) of Ghent University.
  • A certificate B2, awarded by a University Language Centre other than UCT.
  • A certificate PTHO (Profiel Taalvaardigheid Hoger Onderwijs) awarded by “Nederlandse Taalunie, Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal (CnaVT).
  • You have passed the entrance examination doctor-dentistry (toelatingsexamen arts-tandarts).
  • You have successfully taken part in the equivalence examination doctor (gelijkwaardigheidsexamen arts), organised by the Flemish Inter-university Council (VLIR).
  • from 2013-2014 (current applications) B2 certificates issued by a CVO (Centrum voor Volwassenenonderwijs) will no longer be accepted.
C1
  • A certificate PAT (level C1 - Profiel Academische Taalvaardigheid) awarded by “Nederlandse Taalunie, Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal (CnaVT).
  • A certificate NVA6, awarded by the University Language Centre (UCT) of Ghent University.
  • A certificate C1, awarded by a University Language Centre.
C2
  • A certificate C2, awarded by a University Language Centre.

  • A TOEFL-TEST, maximum two years old, with a score of 510-559 (paper-based), or 87-109 (internet-based) or higher. Test takers should mention the “institution code” 2643, so that the score can be sent to Ghent University directly.
  • An original ‘academic test report form’ (TRF) from IELTS, maximum two years old, with a minimum overall band score of 6.0.
  • A certificate awarded by the UCT confirming proficiency in English, CEF-level B2
  • Certificate Practical English 5, Upper-Intermediate Academic English or Preparing for an English test, awarded by the UCT.
  • Cambridge-ESOL: First certificate in English (FCE)
C1
  • A TOEFL-TEST, maximum two years old, with a score of 560-676 (paper-based), or 110-119 (internet-based) or higher. Test takers should mention the “institution code” 2643, so that the score can be sent to Ghent University directly.
  • An original ‘academic test report form’ (TRF) from IELTS, maximum two years old, with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 or 7.0 or higher.
  • A certificate awarded by the UCT confirming proficiency in English, CEF-level C1.
  • Certificate Practical English 6 or Advanced Academic English, awarded by the UCT.
  • A certificate C1, awarded by a University Language Centre.
  • Cambridge-ESOL: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
C2
  • A TOEFL-TEST, maximum two years old, with a high score of 677 (paper-based), or 120 (internet-based). Test takers should mention the “institution code” 2643, so that the score can be sent to Ghent University directly.
  • An original ‘academic test report form’ (TRF) from IELTS, maximum two years old, with a minimum overall band score of 7.5 or higher (maximum score = 9.0).
  • A certificate awarded by the UCT confirming proficiency in English, CEF-level C2.
  • A certificate C2, awarded by a University Language Centre.
  • Cambridge-ESOL: Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
