Laboratory for Analytical Chemistry
The main research activities of the laboratory focus on the development, validation & application of trueness-based (SI-traceable) reference measurement procedures (RMPs) for substrates, metabolites, total and free steroid & thyroid hormones, 25-OH-vitamin D2 & D3, peptides and proteins in serum. A secondary field of interest is about statistical and graphical techniques for interpretation of method validation/comparison. All RMPs are based on isotope dilution-mass spectrometry (ID-MS), in combination with extensive sample preparation procedures. The laboratory offers reference laboratory services to In-Vitro Diagnostic Manufacturers and other interested parties (for a listing of the services, inclusive the associated RMPs, see the JCTLM Database at JCTLM http://www.bipm.org/jctlm/
All these activities fit in the efforts toward establishment & implementation of a measurement infrastructure for SI-traceable measurands in laboratory diagnostics (EN/ISO 17511).
