Vacature bij: Ghent Research Group on Nanomedicines 

De Ghent Research Group on Nanomedicines (Faculteit Farmacie, Vakgroep Geneesmiddelenleer, Laboratoria Algemene Biochemie en Fysische Farmacie) is op zoek naar geïnteresseerde, enthousiaste studenten om een doctoraat aan te vatten. Het onderzoeksdomein situeert zich op de grens van de farmaceutische wetenschappen, toegepaste biologische wetenschappen, polymeerchemie en nanotechnologie. We stellen ons als doel om geavanceerde geneesmiddel-afgifte systemen te ontwikkelen gebruik makend van zowel synthetische (b.v. polymeren, nanopartikels etc…) als natuurlijke (b.v. lipiden, polysaccharide, peptiden etc…) bouwstenen. Tijdens een 4 jaar durend doctoraatsproject komen zowel fundamenteel fyisco-chemische als meer toegepaste aspecten aan bod. Concreet ontwikkelen we farmaceutische dragers voor intracellulaire toediening van proteïnen (b.v. antigenen voor vaccinatie doeleinden) en nucleïnezuren (siRNA- en gentherapie).

The Center for Nano- and Biophotonics is a multidisciplinary partnership involving 12 professors from the Faculties of Engineering, Bioscience Engineering, Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Center builds on the university’s excellence in research and graduate level education in the fields of photonics, life sciences and nano-sciences. The Center will focus on frontier research at the crossroads of photonic integrated circuits and lab-on-chip approaches, nanomaterials development and electro-optical particle manipulation as well as their application to monitor, characterize and image biological systems.

The Center will be strengthened with four full-time tenure track or tenured faculty positions, which will complement the available expertise.
