Research
The members of the History Department carry out research on all periods, from the Ancient Times to today, and on different topics throughout history. We refer to the websites of the different research units and to the individual researchers’ webpages for a detailed overview of the research topics covered.
Research Commission
The Department’s research Commission provides the research units with advise and support, welcomes and prepares evaluation commissions, manages internal applications for the department’s research funding etc.
The Commission is presided by prof. dr. Eric Vanhaute. Other members are prof. dr. Erik Thoen (head of department), prof. dr. Isabelle Devos (financial policy) and Bart Cosyns (policy officer). Also representatives of the seven research groups of the Department are members of the research commission.
