Medieval Seminar 17 June: Annelies Somers & Stephen Rippon

In this Medieval Seminar, Prof. Stephen Rippon (University of Exeter, Archaeology) will give a lecture on Transformation and integration: the management of wetland landscapes in southern Britain during the medieval period.

Preceding the lecture, Annelies Somers (Rijksarchief Gent) will present a paper on her doctoral research: Een benadering van het laatmiddeleeuwse en vroegmoderne spanningsveld tussen vorstelijke en stedelijke netwerken in Gent vanuit religieus perspectief: de Sint-Niklaaskerk en het Sint-Veerlekapittel (1384-1614).

Masterclass ‘Religie en Cultuur’

De derde editie van de interuniversitaire masterclass ‘religie en cultuur’, die dit jaar door de KU Leuven wordt georganiseerd, zal doorgaan op dinsdag 9 september en woensdag 10 september 2014. Gelieve deze data nu al in uw agenda te reserveren. De masterclass zal doorgaan op twee historische plaatsen, met name het Hollands College (op dinsdag) en de abdij van 't Park, net buiten de stad (op woensdag).

Het centrale thema is ‘Religie en de sacrale ruimte’. Indien u zich geroepen voelt om, vanuit uw lopend onderzoek, een presentatie van ongeveer 20’ te geven die aansluit bij dit algemene thema, gelieve dan voor 18 juni contact op te nemen met Brigitte.Meijns@arts.kuleuven.be.

Andere deelnemers zullen we vervolgens vragen om de bespreking van een artikel uit de reader die we zullen samenstellen voor te bereiden en in te leiden, zoals dat ook bij de vorige edities gebeurde.

U mag gerust deze email verspreiden onder potentiële geïnteresseerden die vanuit andere disciplines religie, cultuur en ruimte in het Ancien Regime onderzoeken.
