Master Thesis

The master thesis can be seen as an integration exercise and an independent piece of work. By successfully completing their master's thesis, students prove that they are capable of conducting a scientific study based on an original research topic. Elaborating the thesis is a gradual process that starts in the preparatory or linking year in the course research skills. Based on an analysis of the scientific literature in relation to the thesis’ topic, a research question is formulated and a research plan is set up, leading to the planning and implementing of the student’s original research. Theoretical principles and methodological procedures must be clearly be outlined and justified. The master thesis requires students to engage in the scientific discussion under supervision of a promotor (and co-promotor or mentor.
