Crowdfunding

We studied what motivates crowdfunders to financially back certain projects. The study, funded by iMinds, showed that people are mainly concerned with the objectives and the reliability of the project. Projects that trigger an emotional connection also showed higher success rates. It was concluded that crowdfunding is an opportunity to strengthen economic, cultural and social innovation in Flanders and that more awareness about it potential is a desirable goal.
