Nature, purposes and place of public service television today - Tom Evens contributed to Puttnam Inquiry report

MICT senior researcher dr. Tom Evens submitted an expert opinion to ‘A Future for Public Service Television: Content and Platforms in a Digital World’, better known as the Puttnam Inquiry, which considers the nature, purposes and place of public service television today and for the future.

Together with Paul Smith (De Montfort University, Leicester), Tom made a strong plea for preserving sport coverage on free-to-air channels and, therefore, a continued existence (and effective enforcement) of listed events legislation on which public service broadcasters are increasingly dependent.
