Results of the second imec Health Monitor are out!

(11-09-2017) Together with imec-SMIT-VUB and imec.livinglabs we conducted the second Health Monitor about the use of health apps and wearables.

The results of the survey, show why people use these tools and, most importantly, why they stop using them. In this way, companies can respond to the needs and frustrations of their users and stimulate as many people as possible to track info about their health and/or sports performances.

In the end 1297 people participated to the survey (49% men, 51% women). The participantes already were active online and are representative to the Flemish population in terms of age, education and socioeconomic status.

The survey shows that 96% of the respondents keep data on their health. This can be about the daily movement, sleep pattern, weight or heart rate. It is remarkable that only 32% use health apps or wearables.

As with the previous survey, almost half of the users of a health app (47%) would rather not share the information with others
