Glen Joris is a junior researcher at the research group for Media, Innovation and Communication Technologies (imec-mict-UGent). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Management (Artesis-Plantijn University College, 2014) and a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences (University of Antwerp, 2016).

 His master’s thesis focused on the use of ad blockers, as a mechanical form of ad avoidance. In collaboration with a telecommunication company in Belgium, Glen conducted an online survey involving 400 person’s aged between 16 and 30 years old.

After a job as a marketeer at an independent Belgian news website, he joined imec-mict-UGent in March 2017. In his current research project he investigates user requirements to develop a new privacy preserving information technology. His area of interest lies in the study of new digital technologies from a user perspective.
