Party members
In 2008 an extensive survey was conducted of sp.a party members. The survey focused on three main questions; what is the member’s profile, what are their political attitudes and opinions and how do they judge the party structures and actions. At the same time, a similar survey was held among sp.a mandataries in the interest of assessing the similarities and discordances between party members and party elites.
Different methods were used to investigate the opinions of party members and mandataries. A 1000 party members were interviewed by over 150 interviewees during a 60 minute face-to-face interview, based on a questionnaire of 92 questions. 900 Mandataries completed a web survey with 52 questions. With both methods, very successful response rates were achieved; 68% on the face-to-face interviews, 72% on the web survey. These high response rates will give us the opportunity to test different theories. The full analysis of the research results will be presented at the end of 2009.
