Kari Kantasalmi is lecturing at Helsinki University (Finland). His research is aiming mainly at the inclusion of "indigenous knowledge" of aboriginals in official knowledge institutions, such as universities. He has performed extensive research in Latin-America (Guatemala) and the arctic area.
