Current research:

Orhan Agirdag (PhD, Sociology) is a post-doctoral research coordinator at Ghent University with research group CuDOS. During 2011-2012, Dr. Agirdag was a Fulbright-BAEF fellow at the University of California - Los Angeles, with the Civil Rights Project. His main research interests include bilingualism, school segregation and ethnic inequality. His doctoral dissertation on school segregation received prizes from various societies. His academic work is published in many prominent American and European journals.

Current research:

The project, funded by the Scientific Research Foundation Flanders, deals with the determinants of secondary school teachers' trust in pupils, parents, colleagues and the school principal. School and teacher characteristics associated with teacher trust are assessed. The role of trust in explaining teachers' functioning in terms of their sense of efficacy and jobsatisfaction is explored as well.
