Sacid Örengül

Abdullah Sacid Örengül is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Public International Law at Ghent University Law Faculty. His research focuses on “The Regulation of the Security of Energy Supply between European Union and Turkey”.

He holds an LLM degree in Energy and Environmental Law, and graduated at K.U. Leuven in 2009. The title of his master’s thesis is “Energy Agencies and Renewable Energy”. For this master’s program he was awarded the EU Jean Monnet Scholarship, to contribute to Turkey’s EU membership process as a legal scholar. Sacid Oregul holds also an LLM in European Union, from Istanbul University Law Faculty, 2003. He successfully finished his legal training in Istanbul and was admitted to Istanbul Bar in 2004.

Before coming to Leuven University to pursue graduate studies, he practiced law in two private law firms in Istanbul for three years. Since 2007, he has been working as a research assistant in Public International Law at Erciyes University Law Faculty.
