Qin He

Qin He obtained the Master’s Degree of Law in Research Institute of Environmental Law, Law School, Wuhan University in 2009 with great distinction.

During her master’s study, her main filed of research was environmental and resources protection law and maritime law. She finished her master thesis on the topic of “On the State’s Management Power over China’s Marine Fishery Resources”. She passed the Chinese National Judicial Examination in 2009.

Beside her mother tongue Chinese, Qin speaks English. She also has knowledge of French.

Since October 2009, she has been doing her Ph.D. research at the Department of International Public Law, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Frank Maes, on the topic of “The combat of illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing (IUU fishing) and the development of China’s fisheries law in this respect”. This research aimed to study China’s effort to combat IUU fishing with the framework of international fisheries law and in comparison with the EU’s fisheries policies and legislation.

The PhD was defended successfully on June, 26, 2014.
