Industrial income Ghent University obtains high score in Times Higher Education Ranking

(06-09-2017) The THE World University Ranking presents a top 1000 of top universities in the world. Ghent University increased 11 places in the ranking.

In addition to Ghent University, there are 3 other Belgian universities in the top 200 (KU Leuven: 47; UCL: 129; ULB: 175). The top three are led by Oxford (UK), Cambridge (UK) and California Institute of Technology (USA).

The magazine Times Higher Education (THE) has been publishing the THE World University Ranking since 2004. The rankings of institutions are  based on 13 indicators, subdivided into 5 topics (research, education, citation impact, industry income and internationalization). For the THE ranking, the institutions provide data themselves. In addition, the ranking is based on reputation surveys among international scientists and it also uses bibliometric indicators (based on Scopus).

Ghent University scores worldwide in the top group of industrial revenues. Ghent University is also in the upper quartile for research, education and citation impact.
