Yammi teaches children the importance of healthy food
(02-08-2016) A new educational game to teach children the importance of healthy food
Unhealthy food is a ticking time bomb and it should be combatted as much as smoking, professors say.
Ghent University together with PeterFrank, an innovative game creator developed a memory board game for children. The game has several levels and children learn about the importance of well-balanced and healthy food combined with exercises. The game aims at children between 5 and 8 years old and is based on the foodtriangle.
Research has proven that the motivation of children can be stimulated by a game as learning tool. PeterFrank developed the game with the scientific and didactical input from Ghent University through Food2Know and the department of Development, Personality and Social Psychology. The game will be marketed by PeterFrank and Miummm (the Flanders House of Food) will promote it in the non-profit sector.
