Botanical Garden
More than 10000 plant species thrive on the 2,75 ha site. The Botanical Garden organizes educational visits, and supports the scientific research of the Ghent University.
Institute for Continuing Education in Science
ICES (Institute for Continuing Education in Science) is a logistic service of the Faculty of Sciences. On demand of the faculty and/or external partners we organize courses, conferences and other training activities on topical research areas within the field of exact sciences. Our teachers are active in the industry and/or teach at institutes for higher education.
Workplace of the faculty of Sciences
The workplace develops and constructs unique instruments and accessories for scientific research. It also repairs laboratory equipment in the field of electronics, glass and mechanics.
Zoology Museum of the Ghent University
Under the care of the University of Gent and in the vicinity of the Botanical Garden you can find an elaborate collection of animal specimens, unique for Flanders, Belgium.
Museum for the History of Sciences
The Museum for the History of Sciences is a site of scientific research in the field of the history of science and, in particular, of the history of the scientific instrument.
