Ms. Alexandra Hofer

Alexandra Hofer received her Master's degree in Relations Internationales, finalité paix, sécurité et conflits from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2013 (magna cum laude). During her Master, she participated in the National Model United Nations simulation and interned as a research assistant for Recherche et Enseignement en Politique Internationale. In the year of 2013-2014, she pursued a LL.M in Public International Law at the Centre de Droit International (magna cum laude) and participated in the International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition in the English Language as well as in a Student Tribunal for International Settlement of Disputes.

Before joining Ghent University in July 2015, she completed an internship within the Trial Division of the International Criminal Court.

Under the supervision of prof. Tom Ruys and prof. Frank Maes, her doctoral thesis focuses on the development of customary international law in the field of countermeasures and sanctions by non-injured States and international organizations.
