Ms. Elena Kaiser

Elena Kaiser (Bergisch-Gladbach, Germany, 1989), graduated in Law at the University of Genoa (Italy) with a thesis entitled "The immunity from jurisdiction of international law and domestic law: recent evolutionary profiles ".
Since October 2015, Elena is enrolled as a Ph.D. in International Law at the University of Milan, under the supervision of Prof. Ilaria Viarengo and Prof. Marco Pedrazzi. Her research is focused on issues related to the right to privacy and human rights limitations for State security reasons.
At the University of Milan she cooperates with the Chair of International Human Rights Law and International Organisation.
Elena has conducted a term of study from February 2017 through April 2017 as a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law at Heidelberg in Germany. She has recently exposed the results of her research in a seminar organized at Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona and during the "12th Franco-German meeting of young researchers in Comparative, International and European Law" organized by the Doktorandenkolleg zur Rechtsvergleichung im öffentlichen Recht at the Max Planck for Comparative Public Law and International Law.
Besides the academic activities, she is a lawyer (admitted to the Bar of Milan) and she carried out the lawyer traineeship mainly dealing with criminal law, the protection of fundamental rights and issues related to new technologies.
