(15-09-2024)
As part of the 25th-anniversary celebrations of the Gender, Sexuality, and Reproductive Health Program at the Institute of Health Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, Universidad de la República (Udelar, Uruguay), Emilie Peeters, Coordinator of the ANSER Network, as well as ANSER member Prof. Maria Lohan (Queen's University Belfast) played a prominent role.
Prof. Maria Lohan presented the UNESCO Chair on strengthening the commitment of men and boys to gender equality. She emphasized the importance of engaging children and young people in gender equality through comprehensive sexuality education and advancing research capacity via global networks on men and gender equality.
Emilie Peeters delivered a thought-provoking presentation on priorities and challenges in the global SRHR evidence for policy agenda. Her visit not only highlighted ANSER’s significant contributions to global SRHR research and policy but also served as a platform to introduce the Network to a diverse group of stakeholders from Uruguay and Latin America. In addition to her seminar, Peeters participated in a working meeting with representatives from UNFPA-Uruguay and UNFPA LACRO, paving the way for potential collaborations.
