Global research priority setting exercise on SRHR of young adolescents aged 10-14
(22-12-2024)
The World Health Organization is facilitating the development of a collaborative research priority-setting exercise with global stakeholders. The aim of the exercise is to shape a shared research agenda on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young adolescents (aged 10-14 years). The research priority-setting exercise on young adolescents and SRHR convened diverse experts and stakeholders, and three ANSER members are on the Board: Queen's University of Belfast, Universidad de la Republica and Johns Hopkins University.
The exercise builds on priorities and recommendations identified in five journal articles published in a special Journal of Adolescent Health supplement and involved an adapted version of the established Child Health and Nutrition Initiative priority-setting methodology, comprising two phases.
The first qualitative question generation stage includes a content analysis of the papers from the special journal supplement and a series of online focus groups. The second quantitative, question evaluation stage follows the conventional CHNRI approach and involves an online survey in which stakeholders quantitatively rate the questions using agreed criteria.
