Two ANSER members - Elizabeth Kemigisha from Mbarara University and Olena Ivanova from Ludwig Maximilians University - who had met during the ANSER meeting in December 2016 in Ghent jointly wrote a proposal that was accepted

'A situation analysis of sexual and reproductive health needs and access to contraception among refugee adolescent girls in Uganda'.
Access to SRH services is especially challenging for young women and girls affected by disasters and conflicts. In addition, adolescent girls are an overlooked group within conflict-affected populations and their SRH needs are often neglected. During the project, both institutions will undertake a situation analysis of the SRH needs of girls living in refugee camp in Uganda with the goal to address evidence gaps and, as a next step, to develop effective interventions for this group
