Lisa Landuyt

In the years I spent as a student at the faculty of Bioscience Engineering, Ghent University, a very wide range of scientific insights was offered to me. However, our interaction with the environment and how we can properly manage it is one of the things that interests me the most. In this respect, I opted for the master in land and water management and wrote my master thesis about the fate of heavy metals in river systems. Since October 2016, I work at the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Management as a scientific researcher with my focus on the remote sensing of floods. More specifically, my research focuses on optimizing flood mapping on SAR imagery in order to enhance the existing flood forecasting models through data assimilation.

Research topicsremote sensing, SAR imagery, flood inundation.
