Arrival procedures
Step A: Enrol at Ghent University

Prepare the following documents
- UGent admission letter
- Passport
- Address in Ghent
- Any additional document mentioned on your admission letter
Step B: Register at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering
- Register the International Information Desk (IDD)
- pay for BEPreP
- open a bank account @ KBC bank

Every working day from 9h until 17h
What
- IID will enter/check your data in 'My application 2019'
- Pay for BEPreP (prepare the exact amount in cash) + collect your handbooks/course notes
- VLIR-scholars: sign your scholarship agreement and collect your present from VLIR-UOS
- Information on bank account - prepare the following documents :
- Passport
- Enrolment certificate
- Proof of residence (tenancy agreement)
- Annex 15 (if applicable)

Note: For scholarship students, bank accounts have been opened in advance. Check e-Consort 'my application 2019' for bank account number and appointment time.
Step C: Register online at the City of Ghent
Complete the e-form to apply for your residence permit.
Make sure you have following documents at hand in digital format:
- Scan of passport (can be retrieved from econsort)
- Scan of Visa type D (can be retrieved from econsort)
- UGent Enrolment certificate (download pdf from Oasis)
- Scholarship agreement or proof of financial means (can be retrieved from econsort)
- Health insurance (only for European students)
Step D: Register for insurance (health & civil liability)
- MARSH (all-in insurance for scholarship and Erasmus Mundus students)
- HZIV: Belgian health insurance (for self-supporting students)
- Civil liability
