Personalized therapy

Inter-individual differences in response to therapies are bottlenecks in the interpretation of the outcome of clinical trials.

At the basis of this variability are the genetic and epigenetic differences between individuals, and the exposure of the human body to external factors including food, environment and microbiome.

This cluster aims to develop cellular and molecular based model systems that allow to understand the complex interactions between the human body and internal and external factors, amongst which bioactive nutrients, drugs and contaminants, in order to provide a scientific basis for personalized therapies.
