Research Interests

  • Measuring 3D forest structure and biomass with terrestrial laser scanning
  • Long term monitoring of forest ecosystems

Miro is a PhD candidate at CAVElab (UGent) and PLECO  (UAntwerpen). His work focuses on exploring the possibilities of 3D terrestrial laser scanning for measuring forest structure and dynamics, with a specific interest in above ground biomass. Miro mainly scans temperate and boreal forest in a large European network of flux tower sites called ICOS.
